Shamanism & Celtic Wisdom:

Celtic Wisdom and Taoism are Shamanic cultures. I am immersed in both. They refer to the same reality.

Ireland’s Holy Wells, for example, can be seen as portals to the Lower World. The place where we meet our Power Animals, a first and essential step to exploration in the Three Worlds of Shamanism.

On my land in County Wicklow runs a tree-shaded stream. This Uisce (Water) ally is my teacher in the Motherland.

My primary Taoist Qigong teacher is Master Liu He. Liu He is the first female master teacher in her generations-old lineage.  She was trained by her grandfather, a physician to the Last Emperor of China.  Liu He taught me a powerful meditation on the Holy Wells within the human body, which are nourished by colors of the Rainbow, another important symbol to Celts.

Rainbow is still a somewhat mysterious phenomenon even at the scientific level. Rainbow, which is a circle, teaches us the importance of color in our lives, in food, art, and the spectrum and cycles of life.

I had the great privilege of going on retreat with Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes, author of Women Who run with The Wolves, in 2017 in Loveland CO.  She remains a core teacher and influence on my work and my visioning.

I give credit to my dear friend, author and Beat poet, the late, Michael Brownstein. Over 20 years ago, while we were both living in New York City, Michael taught me much about Shamanism, and he was in love with Celtic Wisdom and reintroduced me to its vast beauty.

I reveled in this discovery, which led me to formally study Shamanism with renowned teachers, including Nan Moss and the late David Corbin, which preceded my travels to Brazil, working with a Columbian Shaman while teaching Qigong in the forest of the Lua forest retreat center outside of Brasilia, Brazil’s capital.

As a senior teacher at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York City, I have hosted workshops in Shamanic Womb Healing, Power Animal Journeying, and Soul Retrieval as well as private healing sessions at the Integral Yoga Wellness Spa.

Now as a certified master teacher myself of the Ling Gui School of Qigong, I am training practitioners to be Qigong teachers and offer workshops and classes to the general public that draw on Taoism and Celtic Wisdom for healing and well-being.

As an initiated Priestess of Brigid by Dr. Isabelle Weber I honor the Celtic wheel of the Year and have deep relationship to Bridgid’s Well Water, in Kildare, my maternal grandmother’s home county.

I teach now in Ireland, the US, and Internationally.
